Mark ogden telegraph biography of mahatma Mark Ogden is a senior writer with ESPN responsible for breaking and analyzing the biggest stories in soccer. As honourable and admirable as any on that list was Mahadev Desai, who died exactly five years before the freedom he so nobly and selflessly fought for finally arrived. Ogden is more about reporting on games and breaking the latest big headlines as opposed to getting down and dirty with rumours, which makes his transfer reports all the more reliable. Although the team was his favorite, he didn't support the statement that they would win the title. In , he won Scoop of the Year at the SJAs British Sports Journalism Awards.
Ive loved every minute of my six-and-a-half years at the Telegraph and worked with some brilliant guys on the desk and in the press box, but the role at The Independent is a great opportunity and Im really looking forward to starting the job, said Ogden.
Its not the first time Ive followed Sam Wallace into a new role I seem to be making a career of filling jobs hes left behind and he will be a hard act to follow at the Indy, as he is already proving back at the Telegraph.
But despite often protesting to the contrary, there really is life beyond the M60 and its as good a time as any to get involved with that.
Ogden finishes at the Telegraph on Saturday and starts at The Independent on December 7.
Completing this round of musical chairs will be James Ducker, The Timess northern football correspondent, who replaces Ogden at the Telegraph.
Ducker has worked at the Times since , first as north-west reporter.
Before that he was employed by the Manchester Evening News as a news reporter. He has twice been short-listed for prizes in the SJAs Sports Journalism Awards.
